Celebrating Harvest with Pro-Life Artists and Crafters

I have recently been  browsing the Autumn collections from our member shops and having a great time. Here are just a very few of the wonderful items I stumbled upon including harvest goodies useful for pets, kids, crafters, home, and...um...personal organizational necessities (a.k.a. beautiful handbags).
Enjoy!

Window on the Womb...

(Baby Chamberlain at 18 weeks)

I am awestruck every time I see photos of babies before they're born. The latest advance in ultrasound imaging is the 3D and 4D technology which allows one to see an actual multi-dimensional photograph and video of the child. It's just incredible and in Crisis Pregnancy Centers that have them, is the number one reason that a woman will decide to let her child live!

It seems to me that in spite of much of the Scientific world's great effort to replace God, it instead is becoming progressively more excellent at revealing the fingerprint of the Divine Creator. To be able to see a child's features, facial expressions, actions, and even hair before birth is a life-altering experience!

Today, I have the extreme pleasure of introducing one of the newest members of our Handmade for Life community! Her name is Chamberlain and she is 18 weeks old (pre-born), weighs 1/2 a pound and is about as long as a Snicker's candy bar. She can already do many things including opening and closing her eyes!

Chamberlain's mommy is the creative force behind Baruch's Lullaby on Etsy and a passionate lover of Life.
On Mother's Day in 2003 after a long and terrible illness, she miscarried a baby in the 12th week of pregnancy. They named him Baruch (bahr-ook) which means "blessing" in Hebrew, knowing that a life cut short is still a life and still a blessing, no matter how brief.

Her creative work is absolutely delightful. Beautiful and full of life and color. I challenge you to visit her shop and find something you wouldn't love to own or give! The icing on the cake is that she gives 30% of every sale to the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Anchorage, Alaska! Another great opportunity to show your love of Life even when shopping!

I am so grateful to the crew at Baruch's Lullaby for sharing their newest blessing with us. And I encourage everyone to take advantage of this great technology and encourage others to do the same. It is a tremendous way to grow in love and knowledge of the child and his or her Creator!

Walking the Talk...

When I started this little work in defense of the Sanctity of Life, it was my great hope that a community would come together to motivate and inspire each other to find a way to use their particular gifts and talents for the cause. I have not been disappointed and look forward to introducing you to so many who have responded spontaneously and enthusiastically to that inspiration.

Lucy of Mum Mum's Crafts was one of the first to respond positively to this effort and immediately set to work finding a way to give more of herself. She unveiled her new project this week and it's just fantastic! Check this out...

A beautiful little bar of all-natural solid lotion imprinted with precious feet and housed in a practical tin. I'd never even heard of solid lotion before but I plan to familiarize myself with it soon! Here's Lucy's description of her Grapefruit and Litsea Solid Lotion Bar:

These ultra rich lotion bars are great for dry skin! They will melt into your skin and provide awesome relief. They are 100% natural, scented only with essential oils and because they are water free, a preservative is not needed!! Grapefruit & Litsea is an ultra refreshing citrus blend, certain to brighten your day! The cute little tins also make these ultra portable, great for purses! To use just take out the bar and allow it to melt slightly where ever moisture is needed. Great for elbows, hands, feet, knees, or anywhere!!

This particular product was made to support the Crisis Pregnancy Center, 50% of each sale goes directly to the Crisis Pregnancy Center; the other 50% goes to making more! The Crisis Pregnancy Center provides assistance to mothers and babies in need across the country. Each month’s proceeds will go to a different CPC, starting here in NC and working from there!

When you purchase this product, you know you're not just getting a beautiful and healthy product...You're also supporting mothers and babies in need.

I also highly recommend Lucy's other products. I am a huge fan of her Goat Milk Lotion (honey almond is my fave) and also her mineral make-up and soaps. I also recently discovered her jewelry shop and am just floored by her range of talents! And I know she homeschools...Anyone else feeling inspired!!

Thanks, Lucy....For all of your hard work, enthusiasm and support!

Jewelry that builds a Culture of Life....

When I recently did a search on Etsy using the term "Pro-life", I discovered a wonderful artist named Sarah and her beautiful shop, Maine Coast Creations. I was really excited to see a large selection of precious feet pendants and necklaces but even more delighted when I read the description. Here is what I found:

**This is a white, freshwater pearl. It will come to you on a silver chain! It may differ slightly from the one pictured, but will be a round, white, freshwater pearl!

I was adopted 28 years ago by a WONDERFUL family who took me as their own. Had my birth mother not made the decision to save my life by giving me up for adoption, I wouldn't be here!

I paired these cute little feet with a pearl. The pearl is considered a much valued jewel & I consider every little baby a jewel from God. Won't you join me in saving lives??

I finally feel like maybe I can contribute to the worthy cause of protecting life! Half of the money I make by selling this line of jewelry will be donated to ACLJ.org I encourage you to check it out & buy your piece of Pro Life jewelry today!!

JEREMIAH 1:5
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.

If you'd like a special colored pearl or ANY other bead/stone/crystal added to your tiny pair of feet, please convo me ~ anything is possible!!

I'm sure you can see why I was delighted! What a gift Sarah's mother has given to the world through her sacrificial love...And Sarah, in turn, has allowed her joy and gratitude for life to give hope and beauty to others through her work.

I have held this pretty little pendant in my hands (the one that Sarah so generously donated to my local pregnancy center raffle) and I hope to purchase one of my own someday.

You'll find that Sarah's talent covers a multitude of arts from sewing to jewelry to apparel accessories. Please take a moment today to visit her shop...Pour a cup of tea, pull up a chair and enjoy!

Pro-life Books for Kids...

We are a family of book nuts. When it's time to clean house, the books even merit their own category on the chore list. We have also been forced to dedicate one of the rooms of our home as "the book room" in order to maintain some biblio sanity.

So, we've certainly seen our share of books that encourage in children an understanding of the sanctity and dignity of life...And those that don't!
Today, I'll share with you a couple of our top favorites in the former category...Just in time to shop for Easter:)

Be Good to Eddie Lee by Virginia Fleming introduces children to a boy with Down's Syndrome. It chronicles the reluctance of the neighborhood children to embrace his differences and treat him with patience and care...And their ultimate choice to treat him with the love and compassion that every person deserves.

Amazon categorizes this book for ages 4-8 but I have seen children of all ages touched by this story...And their understanding of what it means to be pro-life expanded. The illustrations are lovely. We received this book as a gift but found it for sale at Amazon.

Angel in the Waters by Regina Doman is the story of a tiny baby growing in his mother's womb. A beautiful and entirely age-appropriate account of a baby's journey from conception until birth. The illustrations by Ben Hatke are stunning and will delight your entire household.

You are able to see the entire book online at www.angelinthewaters.com but there is no replacement for being able to hold your child in your lap with this one! Seeing the contents will only make you want to purchase it all the more. It is available at Amazon as well as a number of Christian booksellers.
