But as the president began his commencement address, at least three protesters interrupted it. One yelled, "Stop killing our children!"
The graduates responded by chanting, "Yes we can," the slogan that became synonymous with Obama's presidential campaign.

I know that many of us have been closely following the events at Notre Dame over the past few weeks and through commencement weekend. Unfortunately, much of the coverage that we have seen has been from major media outlets. I recommend taking some time to visit the blog of Jill Stanek for an excellent look into this historic event from the pro-life persepective.

Melody, thanks for the link to Jill Stanek's site. What a strong and fearless spokesperson for this cause.
ReplyDeleteI traveled back in time to 2000 and watched her interview with Bill O'Reilly and recommend that all Pro-Lifers do the same. It is impossible for me to understand how a hospital that is funded by any Christian denomination, can approve of any abortion procedure, especially live birth abortion. I was confirmed into the Lutheran church at age twelve. What I was taught by this denomination as sacred, in no way lines up with their sponsorship and approval of this hideous practice. I left the Lutheran church years ago and now I'm sad to say that I was ever affiliated with this denomination. Have our churches really moved this far away from Christ's teachings? How pathetic it is to allow the demands of the immoral and political world that we live in, to dictate the church's position on any issue, especially this one! God's law's, Christ's teachings, the words of the prophets and the epistles have not changed and cannot be interpreted in any reasonable way to support these procedures.
I agree, Vicki...I am so encouraged by Jill's blog. She has incredibly powerful voice and her experience gives weight to the things she says. I stop in there daily for information and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad how much scandal has entered into the Body of Christ. Let's continue to pray for our shepherds that the things of this world will not turn their heads from the truth and the cries of the little ones.
Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteI said it when Obama was running for president, and I'll say it again.. The mentality behind his being elected to president really reminds me of another person who took power during World War II. For the students to chant "Yes we can!" after someone just asked to stop killing the babies scares me. Do they even know what they are chanting for? Do they realize the outcome that comes from a mentality like that? You need to know what you're following, not go along blindly.
